I have a HJ 1993 Galant. Does anyone have a step by step guide of how to get the heater core out.
It seems that its a 9 hour job the local mechanic to take the old one out and replace the bits.
We then need to source out a replacement and its another 9 hours labour to put the new one in.
That equates to around $1700 A to change the heater element, surely its not rocket science.
Please email me if you give me a return so I can come back to the site.
Even a workshop maunaul foir this model doesn't eexist in Australia and I purchased one on the net and its for the earlier model.
When I complained they quote "Buyer beware"

I am the owner of a 2000, 2.4L 4 cylinder ES. My heater core also started leaking. I can use all the help I can get. This job is not for the faint hearted.

I am replacing my heat core on a 2000 4 cyl galant. so much stuff to disassemble from the inside. Disconneted the heater hoses and AC lines but while the unit wiggles, I still can't pull it out completely. What can still be holding it up? Are there more through the firewall connections? HELP!
