Do it yourself body kit

Okay, I have been looking for body kits for a while now and I don't like any for I have seen for a 99 Mitsubishi Mirage 5G coupe so I've decided to make my own. I don't want an EVO look and everything is just so expensive. Now I want to know what is the best material to use to make it? I was thinking like some sort of rigid "foam" and I could sand and shape it the way I want and then I can fiberglass or bondo or whatever over it to finish it off. I just need to know where to find some material to shape it. lol Or does anyone else know of a good material I could use? And please I only want serious suggestions, I know what I'm doing with body work so please, no matter how hard it might be give me a suggestion. Thanks in advance.

From what ive seen from other people that have done it. They just used the foam and then fiber glass. Im no bady expert by any means so i dont really know any steps to doing it or anything like that but i would definetly say use a foam that you can cut and sand like you said then use fiberglass. Once again ive never played with fiber glass so your body work experience will have to come into works. Good Luck
