So, here's the rundown... - Don't use cheap Radio Shack/WalMart/made for home stereo RCAs. You know, those black ones with red and white ends. - Check your grounding locations. Scrape the paint for a good ground. Use the same size ground wire as your power wire. A seperate ground is another good thing to do. - Run your power wires (red, yellow, blue) on one side of the car and your RCAs (signal wires) on the other. Oh yeah, ground wires should not be longer than 3 feet. - Ground loop isolators should be last on your list. The other things should be done/checked first. ..and finally, what stereo equipment do you have? If you got cheap, you get cheap btw. I'm not trying to sound harsh, just stating the obvious. BTW, your alternator should already have a little capacitor attached to it.

I wouldnt imagine his problem lies within the RCA cables... not that that wasnt useful info... I just dont see how his RCA cables would explain that..

Cheap crapped out RCA cables will produce low singals. We all know a low signal will produce a bad sound. You want to have a good strong set to allow the best singal going to the amps.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. The car in question is a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero, Loaded. Stock radio nothing changed, added or removed, afaik... I will check the ground, Thanks a bunch, and the RCA's should be stock, so i am not sure if it is that or not, but i will check those as well. Thanks all for the input! P.S. - I was thinking it had something to do with spark plugs, but I can only base that on a loose and remote possibility. I also thought I remembered something about wiring a capacitor somewhere in the engine compartment, but I also seem to remember that was for older model cars, heheh... RCA and ground sound more reliable anyways, lol. Thanks!
