Well I can’t talk for anyone else but I love this forum. I don’t post a lot but I definitely learn a lot from other members experience jus by reading past discussions. And yeah, Emonz and few other members are always there to answer any questions that I have that was not brought up in other discussions. One of the biggest Evo forums is evolutionm.net. Check them out but I honestly think the guys on here can pretty much answer any question u got about evo’s.

ok, thanks for the help Mike.      wel i guess i can start by asking what the first thing i should do is... i was thinking turbo back exhaust, intake and boost controller.     i have heard from a couple ppl that a cold air intake on an EVO will actually somewhat hurt the performance of the car though, is this true? or at least cause a bad idle?

Exhaust is definitely a good place to start, that’s where I’m starting. Emonz also posted a basic mod guide dealing with exhaust systems so check that out.
As far as a cold air intake system, I’ve heard from other tuners that they are not as efficient and sort of have a negative effect. But don't take my word; I’m sure someone else on the forums has a few more opinions on that. However, a high flow OEM like performance filter works awesome, and it fits perfectly in the stock intake box.

Yea, I check this forum alot too!!!!  I got a quick question tho......Are you really buying and EVO IV (4)  or did you means to write EVO IX (9) ?
I think alot of the cars are away for the winter too so that tends to keep the forums a little quieter. When spring arrives and the meets and shows start up I think there will be more on here.
If there are meets or shows in your area, go to them meet the guys ( or girls ) with EVOs and tal to them about their expierences with mods and tuning.
My only suggestion is to try to come up with a plan for your car that your going to be happy with. Get some rides in members cars with mods and even if you think you cant afford it, aim high!!!!!. It seems that we EVO people get bored at certain levels of tune and that results in spending money to redo things that we could have put toward the more expensive mod in the first place. Good Luck !!!!!!

Good luck getting an IV over here in the stats.  But regaurdless turbo cars need the exhaust,  I wouldnt change anything in theway I modded my car.  I did intake and MBC first then exhaust wideband SAFCII all together then the IC pipes and BOV.

If anything get a BOV and MBC first then exhaust and a tune.  Some intake have been known to screw with the MAS signals and make the car run funny mainly K&N setups from what I have hurd.  I have has zero trouble with mine though.  note there is no CAI or Short am they are just intake. and the stock air box has been proven to be good up to 430WHP or maybe a little higher i cant remember

AS for other sites I go to often for research
www.evolutionm.net
www.evolutionforums.com  but becarefull over there if you posted this ? there they woud rip you a new onw most likly.  they are more along the line of DSM tuners they "can" be pricks.  I never hardly post on them just do searches all day combined I must have like 90 posts I bet

yes........i hav to agree with Emonz about posting on evoM. They will chew you up like a big red chewing gum stick if you're not careful. Thats one of the reasons i like this forum, everyone here is prety much cool and don't mind repeating stuff. On evoM, forget it, ask a question that been asked a while back....you're digging your own grave.

I was reading some of the forums over at evom and that site blows, well the site doesnt it actually got a lot of information on it, its the people that are on it that blow, they are soo ignorant and just plain ASS\\\\S. Some people can ask the most easiest questions to answer yet the people on there got to be pricks and give the guy crap. Im sorry but I have searched their site a few times for some info and after an hour of looking through hundreds of threads I finally find what im looking for. Im sorry but sometimes questions and answers need to be freshened up in our heads. yeah its easy to tell someone to search but even when you find the threads there are questions that you still have but unfortunately if you ask them the ignorant asses will give you crap. Thats why I love this site, everyone here seems to want to help, I have never had a problem with asking questions even If there were posts in the past. Emonz and the rest of the guys here will help to the max even if a question has been asked before. thats just my opinoin though. A+++++++++ to this site and all the members.
