The best places to go are power wash only and with either air dry or something you have to hand dry. The two types we have here are ones that are at gas stations that do the automated power wash system, and the DIY places that you spray the car down with soap then water. Both work really good. Usually the DIY are way cheaper

ya never go to the car washes that use brushes and rollers, dirt from other cars gets trapped in the brushes and will leave swirl marks on your car. use either the diy ones like john said or the laser washes ( the ones that use high pressure water and soap) or just hose it down in your driveway if you can stand the cold. it wont look as pretty but it will get most of the salt of and save you 10 bucks

the touchless car washes are no good. First of all, theyre spraying really high pressure water at your beautiful paint, second, if you dont scrub it, how good can it get cleaned?  The best ones are the DIY pull in stations.  Your car will love you for giving it a nice bath, instead of a severe spray down.

oh yeah and the drive through car washes suck. If you have any leaks in your car, you get wet, the brushes slam against your antenna, and they just dont get it very dry on the other end.

the touchless carwashes wont harm your car UNLESS you have parts of your car repainted on top of the old paint.. i.e. it was in an accident and the painter was too lazy to sand the pannel down, as was the case on my car, and the laser wash started to chip some of the paint away when i went through it

the high pressure washes work alot better than you think. If he wants a quick wash to get dirt and salt off then they are more than adequate. And the DIY spray wash place down the street from me, its only 2.50 and it works pretty damn good. Obviously when you want a really good wash we'll use a wash mit along with the spray but for what he need it will work good.

theres this new place by me and u get out of the car and they vaccume the car and then send it in.  u watch it from inside.  i sent my best friends 04' accord through and it looked awesome.  it cost about 20 bucks so it was expensive, but it looks worth it.  also, its been just above freezing if not freezing for the past couple days so i dont want to open the water to the hoses.  i dont want them to burst.

damn dude, New Mexico was crazy for the past 2 weeks. We got record snow for the state since 1958, and we made national news lol, which was crazy, I couldn't drive my 2000 eclipse for the longest time, so i just took my dads F250, tuned to 450 horse, and had tons of fun! lol
