2003:

1 model, 2 options offered from the dealership. Evo VIII, and Evo VIII with sunroof. All models were 5-speed. None had front Limited Slip, all had center viscous limited slip. All had cloth interior (Suede/Blue seats). Chrome headlights and tailights. All cars had HID headlights. Small lancer OZ style wing was standard equipment, large carbon fiber wing was optional (most were delivered with the large wing already installed, but technically it was the option, not the standard equipment). Turbo was a 16G with a 9.8cm^2 exhaust housing. Intercooler water sprayer standard, switch in center console.

Colors: Rally Red, Blue By You, Lightning Yellow, Weightless White, Tarmac Black, Apex Silver

2004:

2 models, more options offered from the dealership. Evo GSR and RS offered. GSR was the same as the 03 in every way, except for the wing. Large wing was standard, small wing was no longer offered. Leather was now optional on the GSR. I believe an upgraded sound system was also available, but only with leather. Drivetrain and turbo was unchanged.

GSR Colors: Rally Red, Blue By You, Lightning Yellow, Weightless White, Tarmac Black, Apex Silver

Evo RS released, deleted rear wing, door handles and mirrors are black, no ABS, added helical front limited slip. Same turbo as 03 models. Power windows and AC optional.

RS Colors: Rally Red, Weightless White

2005: (sometimes refered to as Evo 8.5 due to so many changes)

3 models, new options offered, GSR, RS, MR. All models now came equiped with ACD (active center differential) eliminating the viscous center diff. Intercooler water sprayer deleted due to ACD reservoir and pump being mounted where the intercooler sprayer reservoir used to be. Cup holders now larger! (YAY!) All models also came with a helical front limited slip. Turbo compressor side remained the same, turbine also remained the same, but the turbine housing was increased in size from 9.8cm^2 to 10.5cm^2.

Evo GSR available in 2 configurations: Base and SSL. Base LOST HID headlights, kept cloth interior (black suede and blue). SSL package offered (Sun, Sound, Leather) which included sunroof, upgraded sound system, and leather interior. The GSR came one way or the other, nothing in between.

GSR Colors: Rally Red, Electric Blue, Lightning Yellow, Wicked White, Tarmac Black, Apex Silver

RS remained the same as in 04, except for the addition of ACD, the larger turbine housing, and an aluminum roof to reduce weight.

RS Colors: Rally Red, Wicked White

MR (Mitsubishi racing) model introduced. Essentially an MR is a base GSR with a 6-speed, HIDs, Vortex Generator, Bilstein shocks, BBS Wheels, and an aluminum roof. No leather, sunroof, or upgraded sound system available.

MR Colors: Rally Red, Apex Silver, Graphite Grey, Wicked White

2006:

Evo IX introduced, 3 models GSR, RS, MR. New Engine introduced, 4G63 with MIVEC. Head redesigned with larger cooling passages and MIVEC valve timing on the intake cam, block revamped as well. Turbo was again upgraded, same compressor and turbine wheels, same turbine housing as 05, but now the compressor housing was increased in size as well. 5-Speed gearing revamped: 1st gear taller, 2nd same, 3rd -5th shorter. Front bumper valance changed. Headlights and tailights now black-chrome. Interior now black fake leather with black suede.

GSR had the same options as 05.

GSR Colors: Rally Red, Electric Blue, Graphite Grey, Wicked White, Tarmac Black, Apex Silver (only year that GG was available on a GSR, yellow no longer available)

RS had same options as 05.

RS Colors: Rally Red, Wicked White

MR had same options as 05.

MR Colors: Rally Red, Graphite Grey, Wicked White, Apex Silver

Late 2006:

Special edition Evolutions offered. No drivetrain changes. All offered with black chrome BBS wheels. Interior updated to include red stitching on seats. Front chin extension added to bumper.

2 SE's offered - GSR SE and MR SE

3 Colors: Apex Silver, Graphite Grey, Tarmac Black.

GSR SE had an AL roof now, and no leather/sunroof/sound option.

MR added bilsteins, 6-speed, and vortex gen. This is the only MR that was available in black. This is the only black MR ever offered.

I think that pretty much covers everything...
