1 week ago I was happily driving along and the engine simply cut out. Would not restart, had to get a tow to my mechanics. No bang, no sputter is full of feul.

Car has done around 90,000 km's, is a manual coupe, always serviced and has had no accidents.

Mechanics cannot get car to start either. Seems to be computer chip, electronics or immobiliser. They ran a diagnostic scanner over it and nothing came up so they sent the chip to be tested.

Need working Car, wife is complaining heaps as we have to share my other car.

They sent what chip to be tested?Just about any part for a Mitsubishi vehicle has to be tested on the vehicle. You rarely can test a part that is off the car.Sound like it could be the electrical portion of the ignition switch or a problem with the main engine computer.

When was the last time you had your timing belt changed also?
