I've been hearing alot of crap about not turboing cars that aren't meant to be b/c it would be to tedious and too much money. So my question is,  is it easier to turbo an eclispe GS  (420a engine non-turbo) or upgrade the GS-T turbo (4G63 engine w/turbo)

*this is all seond generation by the way*

To me i wouldnt turbo a 420a. In the end the price is gonna be about the same if not more as just selling the GS and buy a GST. Then youll also have a motor that is better at handling the boost and has more potential.

Yeah. I would upgrade the turbo and fuel system on your gst before messing with the 420a. I had a neon with the SOHC version of the 420a and turboed that. It was fun but after 2 motor rebuilds it started to get kind of expensive. Since the compression is higher on the 420a bolting for instance a 16g on it will be significantally faster that putting that same turbo on a 4g63, but you also have to factor the cost for the parts to make that turbo or any turbo work on a 420a.... manifold, injectors, afc, fuel pump, tapping oil return lines, etc. In the end its alot of work and worth it but it you already have a gst just do that, its cheaper and easier.

Who said anything about swapping in a 4g63?  I was talking about just swapping the turbo on the GST (4g63).
