you guys are in, as tires 245-40-20 that will fit are available.  that size will not present more than a 1% speedo issue in relation to the oem 18" wheel-tire combination, a non-issue basically.  check tire rack and discount tires, and i'm sure others as well, as they offer tires in that 20" size that will fit the '07 outlander.

Your calcs are actually closer than 1%, in fact it's 0.1% which I would interpret as an exact match (70mph on stock compared to actual speed of 69.93mph on 245/40/20's), when taking tyre ware into consideration it's hardly worth mentioning!

Hey guys, it seems that a decent replacement for the 225/55-18 is hard to find.
Any thoughts/issues on replacing with 235/55-18 which seem much more abundant?

may i suggest powder coated white rims?

I know it sounds cheesey, but i spray painted my hub caps black then clear coated. these were for my beater upper steel stock rims that i use over the winter. amzingly enough i get compliments for them. i dont know, I have a thing for cars being uniform in color

I keep trying to get my wife to agree to some nice black center, with polished lip 20s for our 07 xls. Its white, and I think it'd look bitchin.
so far she's a no go.
but maybe, just maybe if I give it to her just right, and ask in the heat of the moment she'll agree to anything.

(bolt pattern) 5 x 114.3 --- Centre Bore 67.1 --- Offset 38  and thats regaurdless of LS or XLS wheels... space to the strut from stock LS is 1.5"... max size if your nuts... probably 215/85r16... but for some reason people shudder at the thought of an offroad Outtie, shame
