anybody have any idea just how big of a wheel/tire combo you can get on these things... I am thinking of 20s something nice and black with a chrome or polished lip... My outlander is an 07 xls, in white. dont really know much from here other than the stock size of 225/50/r18 I would like to go to a 235, or maybe even 245 wide, maybe 45 or 50 a/r on the sidewall. as for the size, something like a 20 would be great, just dont know how deep/ and wide I can go

Yeah I've asked the same question here a couple of times, no one seems to know for sure how big can you go, guess we'll just have to find out the hard way. I my self can't wait to see my 07 black LS on some 19's, may be 20's with some nice wide rubbers, I think the stockers are lacking.

The tire size that came on mine are 225/55/18. The dealer brochure says the XLS wheels are 18x7. I'm not sure of the offsets but it looks like some of the suggested aftermarket wheels are +35. I wouldn't bank on that being correct though. Tire Rack has several wheel choices: Tire Rack Outlander wheel choices

Any good place will know exactly what will work. I'm sure 20's is possible.

sound, you should be concerned about total wheel-tire diameter for speedometer/odometer issues, and wheel offset as was already mentioned. two different tire sizes were mentioned in this thread; 225-50-18, and 225-55-18. those two sizes have almost an inch difference in diameter, for at least a 2-mph difference in speedometer readings at highway speeds. providing the manufacturers make them, it's possible to get a 20" rim-tire combination to fit as long as you don't exceed the 27 or 28 inch oem diameter - depending on which of the two sizes above is correct. if the 225-50-18 size is correct, then you could conceivably fit either a 215-40-20, or a 225-40-20, which are within a tenth of an inch either side of your 18 oem. again, it all depends on whether tires of those sizes are made for the mass market and can be found. good luck, and let us know !
