The Outlander is packed with little surprises and mysteries. For example, there is a recessed area in the bottom side of the center console between the seats. Flip up the console hatch and you can see it on the bottom side. That spot is designed to hold "pocket tissues" or Kleenex as we know them here in the US.

This video explains where they go: http://www.carworld-jp.info/car/mmc/outlander/movie/35_s.wmv

Ever wonder what the perforated hole was for inside the upper glove box? In Japan the Outlander comes with an air conditioned glove box to keep a water bottle cool. I'm not sure if the parts are available to do that with a left hand drive version, but it would be cool.

What's that cover located near the 12Volt outlet in the rear storage compartment? In Japan they have a button in that spot that allows you to release the 2nd row seat so that it folds up at the touch of the button.

heated seat backs (my back appreciates this) was a surprise to me. I expected just a buttwarmer.

Yep, I used the seat warmers for the first time this morning. Having the back and bottom heated is much nicer than just the bottom.

My Honda only heats the bottom though, so it was a nice surprise for me.

ya know I wonder if the upper glove box can be moddified so that it draws air from the vent right beside it, and can chill that compartment... not that its a neccessity, just wondering...
