my brother has the same car...and no you cannot put a evo 7 4g63 motor in it! i wouldnt even try. i mean its possible but way to much money and work and then the awd conversion **** just forget it lol. you can however boost your 4g64...my brother ran 108fwhp with an intake on his eclipse(same motor as yours) so they arent that great stock.

No you cant swap the motor.  I had the same car a few years ago.

Here is what you can do.  Swap on an EVO 7,8 head and build up the block and turbo it then you got yourself basically a 2.4L Evo motor that is stroked.  people have dne this and they are making around 600HP on your car.   There are options out there for turbos as well

all is true here but don't get all happy go lucky just yet, the price to turbo a non turbo'd car isn't cheap! (as long as you do it correctly.)

lol welll at least the v6 versian runs around 150whp and the 4g gt runs like 200whp. :)

so i could bolt on a evo 7 or 8 head to my block. how much more horsepower does it add and  there is no  cleareance problem for the valves and the pistons. and my car will still pas imissions with doing this. and do i have to change anything with the computer. do i just use a  stock head gaskets or do i have to get a special one. and does anyboy know of an companys that make a crank kit for a 4g64 motor.

mmm just get a turbo from tps when he gets his shop up and running. ... for the price of only 4k *alot but makes your car zoom zoom haha* =D and you get around to 300whp. with stock internals. and you can boost alot higher *15psi* due to your pistons are a bit better built then my 6g72 pistons. but ifyou want to make that 3g to go fast. be ready to spend money... to mod 3g's is very expensive.. trust me.. i know.. i own a 3g =D

true points here.  Your not ready for a Evo head swap.  you knly do that why your car gets around 350-400HP cause that is where the stock head starts to give up.   oh and you will never pass emissions if you make your car fast
