You see, to me there's no fun or thrill in making an engine really powerful if all you have to do is buy extra parts.  The real thrill is in having to go do your homework on a new block, or performance cams and what kinda compression your pistons can handle, and actually going to get your stuff machined, milled, ported, and bored.  Yes it's more expensive but it means a lot more than just buying a piece that just bolts on or reprogramming what your stock motor does with new injectors and such. I keep being told there are no 3G that have that much power and that just makes it that much more thrilling to produce or find such a rarity.

If your planning to make anykind of power you better talk to russ from tearstone.  but honestly I dont know that youll ever need more tha 400HP on a 3G.   its FWD and unless you make it a drag car it is pointless.  it will become worthless on the street ya know.... Russ's cars have built motors from pistons and rods to main bearings, studs ect ect ect you name it the problem your car has is it is SOHC,  and cant go to a DOHC platform like the 4g64 motor can. the heads on the 3G is the thing that prevents power after you get around the 400HP mark.   like I said I know Russ personally and i know his inner opperations of his company.   I lived not to far from him actually, I helped buy him his air compressor lol  same with a few other C3gFL members did

I'm not saying I'm going any higher than even 300 Horse, I'm just saying it's possible and that's my point.

If it were "that" possible there would be quite a few of them doing it these days,  but there not the GS and RS are

I had a 2G and I am on my 2nd 3G now I agree the 2G looks better and was much faster but, the 3G has grown on me looks and performance I still perfer the 2G but, the 3G is much more reliable. The 4G is a nice looking ride a guy in my unit has a blackone hooked just like my 3G we joke around he calls me the Keaton BatMan and I call him the Clooney or Kilmer lol
Anyway, I don't like buying 1st production cars at all usually the bugs are out by the 2nd or 3rd year.

Good luck with the car .

I don't know if you found any other 4G owners, But I just bought one a few months ago.  I got the 2007 GS Sunset Pearl.  It is a really great car!!! I actually sold it to replace my 2G 1999 Eclipse.  I wasn't a big fan of the 3G body style so i'm glad they went back to the simple styling of the eclipse with this generation, because they look great!

Hi, I got mine at the end of January, haven't had the chance to drive it as much, but I am loving it.  I drive mostly street, yeah, I know, what a bummer, specially since I got a GT.

Just got through the auxiliary, iPod situation so now I'll have a chance to focus on other things.  I love the fact that is bigger inside. It has more of a luxurious look and feel inside, and when driving it.

I also have an '01 3G, I wish I could keep it, but need to sell it, as I don't want to be paying insurance for it anymore, and it is still has very little milage, relatively.
