I would hate to the be the wire guy for mitsubishi. That has to be the hardest job in the plant. I'd rather spot weld the whole car by hand.

It looks like they've got everything all set up for the guys who put the Navi unit in.

What if your the little guy over there in japan who is all excited cause you finally got a job with mitusbishi, and you can now support your family... Then they take you into the factory, stand you on the assembly line to make up those wiring harnessess...
damn, that would really suck...
talk about feeling like you screwed up big time.

there are no "jumpers" on the CAN BUS.  When something like sirius is added, the ETACS (which is the gateway ECU for the entire car) is option coded with the mitusbishi scan tool.  So its basically software.
If you plug in the sirius module, it will not be functional until the ETACS is notified of its presence.

Manybrews, do you know how we can add a back-up camera?

I just found this forum. I have a new outlander XLS with navi and luxury package. I was interested in adding
a backup camera so i took it to a local car stereo/ navi install place and they told me it is possible and that they can do it.
The guy told me it would take like three hours just to rewire the navi plus the camera install.
I am just not too confident in having someone else do the work on the navi. Just in case something goes wrong
i am not sure how badly it would void the warranty. I would rather do that part myself so i know what was done
and i could undo the changes if needed.

I have this: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?Source=googlebase&ProductID=14503

I'm pretty sure the RCA Cable from this unit went into something in the back of the Navi. Bottom line is that it works.
