the only thing i could to to my car under 3k is to build the motor which i've though about doing.  keepin the car 10.5 compression pistons, knife-edged crank, lightweight flywheel, pulley kit, cams, port and polish intake, 3 angle valve job 52mm throttle body... small things but the money i spent on it wouldn't be worth the power i get out of it.
as for dyno... at our local Mustang dyno with a blown head gasket, vacuum leak from not capping off where my EGR valve used to come off my intake manifold, and 1 1/2 tooth off on the timing i put down 111whp.  also ran a 10.678 at the local 1/8th track with the same problems.   i'd like to take it to the track one more time to see how much better i do with everything fixed, i'd also like to get it re-dyno'd but right now i'm so broke it's not even funny lol   BUT if some of the members on here wanted to throw a couple bucks my way each i could re dyno it :)  it would be a "suport the coolest moderator" fund lol

Wow... I always thought you were puttin at least like 160 to the ground... Just outta curiosity, you know of any stupid freebe mods that can be done to my 6G72 that would free up some extra horses? I know there was a bunch for the 4g63... but never really heard of any for this motor...

free? cut a hole in the airbox to make it not so restrictive if you don't already have an intake.  cut weight...  that's just about all i can think of really.  there's not much you can for free to a car to make it faster.

lol, sure... Cmon, remember the crushed 1g bov, or the myriad of little trix for the 2g turbos? I mean, the gain is minimal... but every little bit helps. I was always hoping there was tricks like that for the 3g... but alas...

true but those cars are turbo'd and you can always do more to a turbo'd car to pep it up than you can w/ an N/A

A valid point. Not that I dont like the Evo.. but I blame it for the "de-turboing" and loss of the 4g63 motor in the eclipse...

i concur but i think Mitsu thought that if they continued making 3g's w/ the 4g63 or even 4g63t that it would take away form EVO sales.

Well yes, theres that... but the big thing was that the 3g was more like a fluke. Mitsu sales were far far down, and the F&F movie started moving them back up... they needed a new model year for the 2000 and up Eclipses, so Chrysler (specificly the Sebring) helped them out by selling them X amount of Sebring platforms. The 4g Eclipse was what Mitsu WANTED to do for the 3g, but couldnt afford it until sales picked up.
