I have a 2005 limited edition outlander, I was wondering if anyone has ever towed with one and if so what is the max weight limit.  If so, how does it effect handleing ect.

Thanks

The tow limit will be written in your manual.

Its going to affect handling like every vehicle towing something. Its going to slow down slower and speed up slower.

if you are towing a trailer, it will affect the acceleration, and braking worse than the handeling alone.
Strictly speaking of handeling, it will hurt your handeling more when you are breaking, or slowing down in a corner than it will under acceleration. The reason for this, is that the weight you are pulling begins to push on the car when you are breaking... and it is easier for your suspension to deal with a pull than a push....
As long as you stay within the max towing capacity, you should be fine though... also, if you plan on launching any boats... just make sure you only drop the boat as much as you have too... fwd cars/suvs have a hard time pulling out from under a boat in the water. It puts so much weight on the rear, and tries to lift the front off the ground... this, coupled with the added loss of traction due to the slippery surface, makes it difficult at best.
luck...

ya know, I have never gotten those towing numbers... Its like, I have less weight, I can tow less, I Have more weight, I can tow more. I understand that you get better traction with 4wd than 2, but for the love, you mean to tell me I can tow 2000 lbs less because I only have 2 wheels turning...
i wonder if it has anything to do with the strength of the transmission.
Then again, i will most likely never tow anything with my outie... I have a real truck for towing.. LOL
