I own a evo IX. Everything on the car is stock including the three gauges it came with; battery voltage, oil pan temp.,and turbo boost. Can anyone tell me what the 1.5 on the boost gauge is equivelant to in psi? When I am at peak boost it is reading around 1.0, it never makes it to 1.5. I was told the stock boost is around 20psi, is this correct?

1.0 = 14.7 PSI  so you are running less boost for some reason
1.5 = 22 PSI

its metric system thats all  all you need to do to figure out what the boost is.   Take thenumber  in bars and mutliply it by 14.7

do you have or has anybody else every had a boost controller on it?  my friend has an EVO VIII, he was running stock boost for a  couple months then got a EBC,  when he sold it and hooked everything back up he was only running between 11 and 14psi b/c aparently something was missing or messed up w/ his stock boost controller, he told me that he heard from somwhere that this is somewhat common but he's got a MBC now and runnin 21psi again.

the Evo VIII only runs like 16PSI stock anyways.  it will spike 19 then taper at like 4k to 16-15 PSI.

When I reach peak boost it will read right in between 1.0 and 1.5 so I guess my turbo is creating about 18.4 psi. I guess this is normal considering the spike is 19psi. Does a stock evo 8 and evo 9 create the same boost? Will an aftermarket BOV keep my turbo's boost from tapering?

Evo IXs as far as I know should not taper and should un and hold 20.5 PSI.  if you added a BOV you may have a boost leak
