Hello all! I am new here. I bought a 2005 Evo 8 back in December
I finally got to run my 2005 Evo 8 at the track last night. I was disappointed with my #s. My car is stock and I was running 104 octane. I ran these #s very consistantly.

Here are my best #s

60'  2.337 sec
1/8mile  9.203 sec
1/4mile  14.092 sec at 100.49mph

Please tell me what you think of these times.
Do I need to be concerned about these times?
Thanks for your time!

only good god.  yea I cansee your problem right now. a 2.3 60foot is HORRIBLE for any car.   FWD cars are better than that usually.   You need to learn how to launch your car.  You must have been bogging bad off the start or something.  your 60ft should be closer to the 1.8 area give or take depending on setup and skill.  and that would make your car closer to a low 13 sec car in the end.  especially on 104 octane.

when I tracked my mustang I would get consistant 2.2 60" times because of the damn automatic, but yeah like emonz said guess you gotta work at your launches. Im goning to the track soon and I've been practicing my launches when I come home from work to get on the highway, i've been getting really good at and so far I got a 4-5k launch down with no bogging, im slipping the cltuch a bit and the luanches feel real good, now just gotta try luanching off the 2 step

Yes, your 60 foot time needs some work and should be in the realm of 1.8 seconds.  Practice launching but be prepared to buy a clutch after continuous abuse.  Your 100mph trap speed shows your car should be in the low 13's once you get the launch down and shift a little faster.  Make sure when you shift you're not totally letting of the gas.

Don't worry, all of this takes practice.  My first quarter mile was 13.9 with mods...sucked!! :)
