Just got another 3000gt  from a budy of mine but this ones SL. body is worn but runs pritty good.  Thinking of swapping the motor and then restoring the rest.  Do you guys know of any motors that will fit and work perfect.  I was thinking about an RB26 or the supra motor but i havent done any reseach on them and dont know if it would work. Let me know if you guys have any ideas or comments.

...hell, you just as well do a LSx swap...maybe you could drop a Veyron engine in it...

Seriously though...if you have to ask, you probably don't have the knowledge or money to pull it off correctly.

acually buddy, your right i dont have the knowledge to do the whole thing but i could do alot of it. I've already helped out with a RB26 swap in an S2000 and she runs perfect. And just to let you know its not very expensive.  I work for the military so i get free shipping on parts only when when the carriers come from Japan.  Motor itself coast about 6,500 US dollars.  I asked if it was possible and if anyone new anything about it.  If you dont know or dont have any good input then dont reply.

and none of that matters for your car.   Lets do the math a little bit  s2000 RWD  SL FWD which means what exactly?  the motor and tranny are mounted in 2 total different places.  The V6 sits to the side with the tranny on the side the RB26 and the s2k motors site the long way with the trany under the car in the back\middle.

Basically your not going to be able to do it at all.  the 6G72 motor is more than capible just do a 6g72TT it will cost you alot less and will be an easy swap

I don't know what engine you should use, but I'd like to know how yours turns out. Who knows, maybe I can go the same route with mine that I just purchased.

I need to replace my tranny. What kind do you have?
