SO I had intentions of going to route66 raceway to dragrace my car saturday(today) but thursday I found out that because the weather was bad, test and tune day was cancelled. I was so mad, I waited three weeks and now it was cancelled ahhhhh! Well Friday my buddy with the speed3 looked into another dragstrip and it turned out that the great lakes dragway in wisconsin was opened pending weather. Well this morning we took the chance and went out, boy are we glad we did, gates opened at 10am and when we got there, there was maybe 20-30cars tops. It was great. here are all my times, I got 5 runs in and called it quits, I was sick of smelling clutch lol.
Keep in mind that this is my first manual car and I have been driving it since august......well actually i car pool so I actually phyically driven the car almost 3000miles since I had it.

So I was actually happy with this run concidering It was my first ever run. I figured If i did a 14 then I would have been pissed at myself lol.

Holy crap I never thought I would have hit 12's that soon into owning this freakin car......I love this thing, its a beast. I know wiith a better 60" I could have hit lower 12's but thats gonna have to be next time, gotta get that damn clutch smell out the car lol. Well That was my story of the day....... oh and my buddy with the speed3 his best time was a 14.2@ 105Mph...... He was having very bad wheel hop problems but with a trap speed like that its definately a 13 sec car. My buddy has a couple of my vids of the runs. After the day was over and we watched the videos, the dummy that recorded them didnt record all the runs, so I only have the 13.0 and the 13.7 run on vid, I think there was 1 other one.

You have an EVO right?

Well thats not too bad. Seems like your making progress. I would get a decent clutch and break it in propperly... then start practicing those launches.

Oh another thing, remember those vids I posted about the speed3 vs evo........ well we did some runs again and all I can say is he didnt have a prayer. I walked on him from 70 all the way to 145 and we did a 60-130 and I walked on him so bad. He was getting upset how bad I was walking on him and now he definately wants the tuner for his car....[;)]

Yeah I have an 05 evo 8, I am in no hurry for a clutch and spending over a grand for it, so the only launching this car see's is if im provoked to race or when racing at the track [:D]
So since my stock clutch is holding no need to upgrade yet.

You could do better... although for a beginner its fairly decent.

I agree totally about the clutch thing.. i was just giving you a heads up at what your going to be looking at VERY soon lol [:D]

Thanks for the heads up, I already have saved the money for the new clutch when the time comes so im not worried but I hope it last a decent amount. The car only have 4700 miles on it so the clutch is in good shape, this was the first time i launched the car. Thanks again for the head up though sebba. [;)]

I bought it used with 1900miles this past august and drove it for a couple months and then pretty much garaged it because I car pool for work. Since they come my way there was no sense in me going 20 miles out of my way and then come all the way back to get to work. It works out better this way, makes you appreitate the speed of the evo after driving in a slow car all week lol.
