I can understand the new car comment, I wouldn't mind getting a new car either...but I'd have to keep my Avenger, lol. I see how you got up there in numbers, but you don't even need all of that to get you there. The Shep tranny isn't necessary, just about any 50 trim will get you up there in HP, the head rebuild could be done elsewhere and so can the motor rebuild, you don't need the stroker to get 500hp. You could also do a 6 bolt swap so that could ease your mind a bit about crankwalk. All of that could be done in phases too. Honestly, what good is having a 500hp DD, besides racing it and constantly wanting more? Lol. I'm not trying to say that you made a mistake, because when it's time to move on, it's time to move on I'm just saying that perhaps you looked at the total amount of what you wanted done as a one lump sum type deal, where if you looked at it in an "over time" point of view, it might not have been so bad. I don't even want to know my total sum, I'd rather just pay the bill and move on, lol.

I just bought the 4G Eclipse and it is definately worth it!!! of course its always nice to have a new car, but when it looks good and it comes at a great price you can't beat it. I just sold my 99 Eclipse to buy this one and of course I miss the last car but this one well than makes up for it. I plan on also having some fun with it buy adding some rims and possibly a body kit or aftermarket fenders. Who knows. I also took some pictures of the 99 eclipse I just sold along with the new one for comparison. They actually kind of have a similar look from some angles. Thumbnail Image

Im the kind of guy that if I do a project I do it all the way. I liked the idea of a dtroker motor, the stock tranny has problems with over 400 HP, and the head job didnt sound that bad in price. No one can beat the performance or quality of an FP turbo ( my opinion ). Im not one for keeping cars for too long, although I kick myself for getting rid of my 69 Camero and 67 Firebird, but thats how it goes. Ripp mods claims 290 WHP with a cat back, CAI and their heafer, what part did that guy get to only get 240WHP? our cars have somewhere around 230 WHP I thought. I know after I put my Fujitain It really woke it up, and it sound so bad how it rumbles, it reminds me of my 03 Tibby I was told for 7K RRE will AWD your Eclipse, I do not know if its true or not, I havent asked Mike yet. I think if it is true the 7K is just the labor, you would have to provide the AWD and engine from a Evo 9 cause you cant put an older engine in a newer car

I didnt know they had a S/C for the 4CYL, why not go turbo? With the S/C needing HP to make it work you wouldnt think it was worth it

its all about availibility though. I dont think anyone actually makes a turbo kit yet. So if the SC is all you can get at the time. Personally i would get a SC either.

The GS has the same engine as the 04-06 RA's right(4G69)? RRM has some nice stuff for that engine like: RRM MIVEC 4G69 Camshaft- Street Performer ROAD///RACE PORTED POLISHED HEAD- 4G69 STAGE 2 ROAD/RACE Ralliart 2.4 liter Forged Aluminum Pistons These are some nice NA mods to consider, they should work on the GS just fine.

...but, you really don't need a "kit". All that everyone waits for to turbo any car is a fabbed e-manifold. The exhaust can be fabbed at any exhaust shop and nothing unusual. The oil lines can be fabbed just like they were and are on any vehicle without those kits. Fuel injectors can be sourced with some research, a Vortech (or whatever) FMU, fuel pump, and all the little nic nacks like gaskets. I don't know why everyone "waits" for a kit, especially the guys that know what's needed? IMO, it's just an excuse. There really isn't a reason to wait. That was my excuse when I wanted to turbo my car, I was a noob with all of it of course . I'd turbo my wife's Dodge Grand Caravan if she'd let me, lol.
