damd, i knew there was something wrong with it.

quote:

ORIGINAL: silvercoupe97

The BOV does not have a tube going back into the intake tube that is blocked off, that causes you to run rich during shifts and may pose idle problems.  The GM MAF+T is...General Motors Mass Air Flow + Translator.  In order to vent the bov to atmosphere like that, you have to remove the stock MAF (black box connected to the air filter) and install a higher flowing GM MAF+T in between the bov and intake manifold.  You don't have that though, so that's not really good on performance, it hurts it more than helps it.  Venting just gives you a party favor noise when releasing the gas pedal and sends out a puff of black smoke out your tailpipe.

No need to go outside and check your tire size either.  I just noticed the tire size in the pic, it's 225/50/16, they should either be 215/55/16 or 205/55/16.

meaning having 225/50~ is bad then? cause i kinda like the look ... makes it look a little aggressive.

is that the tube your talking about (1) that goes into the intake in the back? (2)

and is that the black box your talking about? (3)

i gotta get that black box replaced?

Your bov should be hooked up like this...

To successfully recirc your bov, you'll need to buy a recir bov or buy the recirc kit for that bov.

#3 is the MAF, you don't have to buy a new one, but you can remove it after you get a GM MAF+T which will cost you around $200-$300.  My suggestion is to get the kit and recirc the bov.

im glad i posted these pictures. at least i know what priorities are in order.
as i was reading everyones comments i actually read up on the gm maf+t (http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=17025&quantity=1)
and recirculation kits for the bov. (http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=18502&quantity=1)

how come most hks bov's i've seen doesnt have that tube connected to it? either that or i havent seen it. cause the picture you posted was a different bov that looked like a tube was made for that. where would you insert that tube onto the hks bov?

and having 225/50~ isnt harmful right?

Nah, you're fine.  Your speedo may be off by 1 mph after 55mph but nothing horrible.  The do have kits for those bovs.

http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=18502&cat=358&page=1
It's only $12 + shipping + a 1" dia rubber tubing.
In MY opinion, the MAF+T is nothing but a device that allows you to have a loud bov which isn't worth the money spent on it....unless, you have goals in the near future that requires more flow because you will soon have a high HP monster.  Even then, the GM MAFT can be too inconsistant and irritating.
The stock MAF is capable of 400hp worth of air flow, but until you get there, recirc and leave the MAF alone...again, IMO.

**Ooops, you already seen the kit.  Sorry.**

I like it... especially the "This car loves rust." comment, lol... for some reason Im still laughing at that...
Though... if it the engine randomly explodes... I want the Drivers quarter panel.
