I have a 90s USDM Galant VR4 turbo 4G63 and I was wondering if a transmission from a 1990 JDM all motor Cyclone 4G63 would work? What would I need to do to make it work? Let my know.

In the end, your GVR4 tranny is better than the EVO 1-3 tranny.  Your first gear is taller and the EVO 1-3 has a 7 bolt bottom.

The VR4 engine has been swapped into a FWD Mirage. The transmission right now is just FWD, not sure from where and it is broken. I just have an opportunity to use the JDM transmission and want to know if it will work or else I will have to rebuild for soo much money or try to find a good transmission forever.

Well, it won't bolt up for one, because the JDM version is a 7 bolt and 2) it's also an AWD tranny.
How are you using the VR4 tranny as a FWD?  What did you do to the transfer case?

silver it wont matter if its a 6 or 7 bolt motor to mount up. They are both the same because take the eclipse for example. The 1g tranny's will bolt to the 2g block. The one thing you really need to know about whether it will work or not is the spline count. so that it will be compatable with your t-case. Because mitsubishi made three different spline counts for AWD 4g63. A 21, 22, and 23. Now im pretty sure that the VR-4 tranny is a 22 spline because i have one currently sitting around with a t-case for it that im selling and they are 22. Im not sure on what years the others came in. You can easily tell by just counting them. If you dont have the correct splines then you need a t-case with the new tranny

Pffft, you're right...what the hell was I thinking?  Hell, I have a 95 tranny on my 6 bolt!  I need sleep.
The other thing is that he didn't mention AWD for his Mirage, so in my tired mind, he needs a FWD tranny and not from an Evo 1-3.  Granted, it sounds like he's going for an Evo 1-3 clone.

Thanks for the info, big headache now because I found out that the transmission is just from a galant. This is not an evo clone, its hatchback mirage.
