I was pretty pissed to find out that the stubby off my Evo didn't fit my 07 Outie.  I am curious though if a stubby antenna wil affect Sirius/GPS reception.

Oh, man someone beat me to the thread, I was thinking the same thing today when for the 50th time my antena hit the garage door.

Really, there can only be like 4 antennas right? male/coarse, male/fine, female/coarse, female/fine... its just the threads, isnt it?

That was what I was thinking too. Thought for the most part they were standard.

Mine has a cute little bend in the end from getting it stuck in the garage door somehow. Good thing I have the earlier antenna that swings from straight forward to straight back probably would have done some serious damage.

Oh man, you lucky, mine swings from straight forward to about 45* back, I got it jamed in the garage door backing up once, and the darn thing made a really loud noise, I swear, I thought I had just completelly f-up my roof. To my surprise both the antena and roof were intact. Thats kind of cool how you got a different model antena that swings back fully, I wish mine did that, I hate the swong forward look.

As far as satellite reception.  I beleive the sat antenna is in the base unit that the extension mounts on.

I'm guessing this as standalone satellite antennas don't have extensions, just the 'block'
