What motor is that from?? Are you kidding? I thought even the Honda boys knew this one... Its from an Eclipse. A 1/2G eclipse.

the year will pretty much dicate what swaps you can do and how easily. if you've got a 96 Mirage, you've got it made. The 4g63t out of the 1g (maybe 2g, don't know for sure) eclipse or the Evo I-III will drop straight in. If it's a 97, you've got your work cut out for you. 97+ (5th generation) USDM mirages have a different chasis than their Japanese counterparts (8th gen Lancer I believe it is), so your options for swaps are much narrower. Obviously, if you've got the 4g15, you can swap in a 4g93 and call it a day, drop in a 4g64 out of the 00-05 Eclipse (and get the 98 Eclipse Spyder ECU & harness).........there's a v6 that'll fit, but the cost and headaches really aren't worth the power gain unless you can find the 3kgt-TT motor, but be prepared for your nose to drag. Then there's the wonderful 4g63t, every 5ger's dream. Unfortunetly, you'll need to import an Evo IV-VI.5 motor (and mess with getting the wiring harnesses straightened out), or pull one out of an Evo VIII. Either way, expect to pay at least 10k.

And I'm kinda disturbed that the Honda crowd doesn't know what a 4g63 is.......what'd they think was dusting them all these years?

I have a similar question.  I have a 91 Mir I got from my sister, it needs some work but has been reliable for a long time.  I would like to know what motor can be swapped in easily?  I am looking for something that I can boost and install with little modification to mounts.

91......that's  a 2nd gen mirage if I'm thinking straight......in which case you can drop in a 4g63t, or (again, if I'm thinking clearly) a 4g61t, which was the factory turbo option for that particular generation. If you can get your hands on the motor, tranny, computers, diffs and drive train of a 4g63t, you will have an absolute rocket.
