4 banger, 6 banger aint matter...2.5 is the best way to spit out exhaust gas. order it online, better and faster....

Looks like all the part numbers you gave me were for mufflers with 2.25" inlets, not 2.5"

if i where to replace the stock cat with a high flow cat would that mess up the computer at all. i am not concern about emision. they don't test that here in minnesota. when i get back home i was going to have the hole exhuast sytem gone through with new header , 2.5 in mandrel bend piping with high flow cat and mufflers and a nice crome 3.5 in to 4 in tip. keeping it mild so when i do get on it she has a nice sound to her.

no...its not gonna mess up your computer. unless u' gonna have them remove the caty. emmissions system will play w/ the pcu if one of the components is missing. now for high flow, u' could go all the way 2.5 for n/a engine or 4 banger. for 6's i'de go for straight 3" and also for turbo engine, 3 is the best fit.

Yeah,I went to school,& learned how to convert decimals.I was just wondering if you say 2 1/2" is better, why the part numbers for 2 1/4"? Also,if 2.5" is the recommended size for a mild 350 V8,then wouldmt 3" be too large for a V6 and actually hinder more than help performance because of turbulence? If turbocharged I think 3" would be best? Thanks...

I think what you meant to say is backpressure not turbulence. Look at the long run... are you planning any forced induction? If you are save yourself some money and go with a 3 so you don't have to redo your exhaust twice. If not then 2.5 works.....

At this point...probly not forced induction, but possibly a small shot of NOS down the road.Right now I'm just trying to maximize what I've got, both in air intake & exhaust, and handling.

see theres a lot of do's and dont's when it comes to exhaust system. some say 3 is better fit for 6's but not for 4 bangers. now 2.5 works well for all engines. but power wise, some say 3' is better for 6's not for 4's. so, its up to you to pick which one......mine is 3' b-cuz my eclipse is sportin t04. and so far 3' is working alright for my turbo. and again 2.5 is always the best bet.

I'll probly go with 2.5".I
ve got 2.5" on my 79 Vette with a mild 350 V8.It also has ceramic headers, crossover and Flowmaster 40's for the exhaust..Did you also swap out your CAT to a high flow version?
