Those dimensions I'd posted are for the opening

I can measure the outside, too, but those I assume are the same for any Outlander.

*sniff* I was so excited then you know what I realized? If I go with aftermarket stereo no more poking the steering wheel for volume *waaah*

Unless someone knows how to integrate it? Dont worry Im not holding my breath.

BTW Thanks MitsuTim for having great prices!

I guess that would mean a direct solder on to the PCB for the vol switches for your 3rd party radio.

Uh... yeah, that would be pretty hardcore to get the steering wheel switches to work!  Please post a writeup if you do that!  My HU has a dial, so bonus points to figure that out.

Hey Tim, thanks for joining.  That pic looks just like what the doctor ordered.  Hopefully it works out OK, since I think it's the only real option right now unless you are really good at fabrication.  I also just ordered a cargo mat that I will have to cut holes in for fan vents for the little cargo area in back.... still trying to figure out how to finish that cleanly.

I read that a double din is supposed to be 7"x4" or 7.2"x4.22", depending on who you ask.  I assume that's the box dimensions, so this will probably be a reasonable fit, since the face is typically larger than the box.  I'll be doing a single din, so will need a filler anyway.  I guess I'll know soon. :)

I think the only guaranteed double DIN match are the ones that are specifically marketed as such. Thing is, it's only sold in Japan. But we got parts # for it, so I wonder if MitsuTim is able to order these from Japan, to include all the other goodies we've been wanting.

Worth a shot.  Shoot me a couple numbers and I'll do what I can

Oh, and while we're at it, who do I talk to about sponsoring these here forums?  Through our sister Honda/Acura website, I sponsor 8 (? cant remember  ) forums related to Hondas and Acuras.

FYI - the part number on this piece is 8002A074XA
