Below are the night pics with the Red LEDs. Brightness level is more then ample its similar in brightness to the center console storage area under the AC Controls. Sorry for the blurry pics but my camera doesn''''t handle night shots very well. I actually really like how it came out it looks nice, isnt bright enough to bother the drivers eyes when he is driving, and well if you at some outdoor party at night when you open up your car there isnt some blinding light that kills everyones night vision.

I think once I replace the bulbs under the passenger seats it will provide ample light to the cargo area when its being used for storage.

Im also thinking that mounting some LEDs under the passenger side dash, in the glove box wired to the front dash light. Plus a set under the driver and co-pilot seat wired to the second row lighting will make for a nice addition to the lighting and allow for more lighting coverage. Plus it will look cool

Nice pics.  It has a unique look.  I also changed my lights to white LEDs.

Here is a comparison of the front:

The intensity is quite a bit better than the regular which is what I wanted.  It gives it that look in which most luxury cars achieve.

Ya its not just that its brighter its a cleaner light. I picked up the xenon bulbs as well when I ordered the reds ones that way down the road if the red starts to get annoying I can switch them over to the white. The place i got my bulbs had green, blue and black light ones for the same price. Although I really cant see any other color then red or white for the outlander unless you changed out all the dash lights as well. Did you change out the bulbs under the rear seats as well?

I was contemplating that, then I thought, I have yet to use the third row seats since I''ve owned the vehicle, and I rarely flip down the seats, so I figured it would be a waste of money.  I do like your idea of adding additional LEDs around the interior.  I would like to add red LED''s to the front floor mat area.

What im trying to decide on the floor lights is how they should be wired. Be it to the interior switched lighting with the overheads (fronts to the front dome and backs to the back dome) or wired to the headlights so at night they are always on.

The one issue I am seeing with using red lights in the cabin area of the front is im used to having the front light up brighter when I open the door to get in at night and with the light in red my eyes havent adjusted to the dark yet when i walk out of my house directly to the car so the floor area is dark. Thinking the lights under the dash would fix this issue meaning they would need to be wired to the dome lights to auto on when the doors open.

A small note here as well regarding the lights for the climate control knobs and the lighting in the storage area below them. The bulbs here are actually the standard yellowish color that you see on the AC indicator. The nobs where you see the red light is tinted plastic which is why the color on them can not be modified. But you could replace the bulbs here with a pure white LED which would result in the storage area below being brighter as well as the controls being brighter. If you wanted the storage area below im sure it wouldnt be to hard to find to small pieces of red transparent plastic to cover the light holes with to make them red as well. This is something im planning on doing but since I want to replace the control knobs with the chrome ones sold in Japan im going to wait on this and do them both at the same time.

Most people who black out the head lights are using a thin film to do it so the light still shins through when the lights are on, personally ive need seen the point of this even more so on a car that has nice looking headlights.

Regarding the Xenons being bad for the vision of other drivers. Many cars have them you can easily tell who it is when you driving cause the light will appear to have a slight blue tint to it. Ive never had a issue with them bothering my eyes when im driving towards a car with them.

I understand not everyone has this issue. But some do. Myself, my girlfriend and my sister all have this issue. it sucks because the blue lights are pretty cool. But blue tinted xmas lights mess with my vision as well... not sure whats that is about. It really freaking sucks.

Thank you for the links and instructions, I installed these LED bulbs today and they are a nice clean light that makes the interior of my Outlander feel more upscale. I did the white LEDs on the interior and license plate.
