Really... I mean... define "backward" How would that even work... the valve wouldnt be able to open if it were literally backward... Is it a waiter... or like a special ed busboy or something?

Yes, define backwards, lol. If by backwards he meant that the bov was spun around 180* from it's common placement, then no. That just means that it's facing an uncommon position and isn't bad at all. For example, if you or I were to place our bov's dump tube facing the the opposite direction, it won't affect it's performance at all. It will just make it harder to run piping to it from the intake or vice versa, lol. I'm thinking of a 1G/2G style bov btw. Most are pretty universal and the air passage is centered, along with the flange so it's almost impossible to put that part of the bov backwards. As long as there isn't an air leak, it's fine....but then you have to consider the dump tube and if it's even a consideration.
