Whats up, im VERY new to turbo chargers, i understand how they work and where their installed and such, BUT i dont know about specs or where to find them. I found some ad's on Craigs List selling turbos and was wondering what the specs were if their different on different eclipses and such, I found this ad

this items specs are a .50A/R and a .63 exhaust housing. 5 bolt exhaust flange

and dont know if thats something that would fit or not, excuse my being a newb so much, im new to alot of stuff on cars.

by the way if it helps i have a 1997 Eclipse GS 2.0, stock engine.
Also will this mess with the engine/harm the engine if its stock?

Thanks Guys.
-Dennis

Ok ok, hold on to your horses dennis... hehe, if you have a GS 2.0 then you have a 420a engine... which is not very reliable when turbed... for starters the rings would start to blow and youd have quite some trouble at 13psi with the stock internals on that engine...
About the turbo specs...

Like i said in previous posts :) search does wonders.... there youll find links from how does it works, to what does everything turbo related means. i hope you find this helpful someday... ps, lots of ppl will try to tell you to get rid of the 420a so be warned =)

You need to buy a kit from hahn racecraft or somewhere to turbo a gs or rs, if your going to do it, do it right. Dont just try and weld up a turbo and  i think you can safely run 8psi on a stock internal gs. There are a few places that make kits, just do some searching around BUT just to fairwarn you(you would be better off in the long run to just buy a GS-T or GSX) Kaede told you it was coming...lol

lol, not true. After all the basic upgrades, Tubro + NOS will do the trick.

i want your gs then!!!! haha jk, im out of money... you could squeeze some decent honda killer power out of it... but itll be pricey... it can be quicker!! but pricier!!!, both problems with it is that it doesnt have as much support as the 4g63 has (which makes things more expensive) AAAAND it has weak internals (truth be told) not to mentions it kills headgaskets -_- (im getting a vaccuum gauge just cuz of that, i dont want a mess...)

Yeah man, the car is fast dont get me wrong i mean it blew my mind the first time i drove it that it had that much power with that little done to it but i want something basically that im gonna waste some people on a 1/4 mile without getting to the point of speed to kill myself with haha. Because i pushed the hell out of my last RS (Which was not fast but not slow but what can you expect when the car is totally stock) and now look where it is, in a junk yard haha.

Be sure to look for a car with a 6 bolt swap if you plan on modding it alot.  Or your crank will be walking all over town.
