Do wind deflectors actually do much, or do people mostly use them as a dress up item?  Does it run quieter with the windows open?  Can you drive in light rain without drips coming around into your face?  I never had them on a car, and was curious as to the benefit... was thinking of getting some if the answers were all yes.
Thanks.

They actually work. I have been in 2 cars in the rain with them. I cant say if it was quiter but I can say I  stayed dry with the window cracked.

You can drive in heavy rain without a single drop coming in with the window down 1.5 inches
