I race a '91 Eclipse GS in our 4cyl division at our local 1/2 mile oval dirt track.  Last night, in the feature race, i went into turn three, on lap 4, and the rpms just reved up when I got back on the gas.  So, I shifted down to second and it did the same rev that it did in third gear.  I thought to myself i have a broken cv shaft.  (Because that is what it does when a shaft is broken) Pulled the car into the pits and checked both cv shafts, nothing was wrong.  Got back in the car and shifted into first and it drove.  So, I drove it around and had 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  I am confused.  Why no gears at one point and then later I have them.  Does it sound like I need a racing clutch from ACT or what??  Please someone help.

lol. I'm really confused, i dont understand what  is going on. No offence. Be alittle more specific on what the actual problem is.

When you hit the gas, the revs climb but the car stay still?

let me know so we can help
