Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the help. I succesfully installed Tweeters(Infinity Reference 1001t Edge Drive Textile Tweeters). Special thanks to AudioQuest for his quick reply to personal email. So, the cover has to be pried out from top. With supplied angle mount it is too tight, so, to get the angle (Instead resorting to drilling or sticking it inside), I made brackets with empty Tide Liquid tin(Yes that is right Plastic tin) and mouted it with Original mouting bolts inside.

Here are some picks.

Hello, I would like to know, where are installed the standard crossovers (If there is any installed) for the tweeters and speakers in the front doors in mitsubishi outlander?

P.S. I have already the standard tweeters preinstalled and 4 loudspeakers (2 fornt and 2 rear doors), but I cant find crossovers.

I called my dealer regarding the price and part numbers of OEM tweeters.

PN = MR986463 and MR986462 Left and Right std. tweeters = $75.78 each
PN = MR515832 and MR515833 Left and Right Infinity Tweets = $72.86 each

What a rip off!! I'm gonna go and get me a NICE set of tweets for about $40 somewhere. Installation looks fun and easy.

LOL how are standards more expensive than infinity's. either way, Im doing the same as Cam and getting cheaper/better aftermarkets

Yes, that is true, these guys are really ripping off customers. Not only these, if you look replacement standard head unit, it is around $600+ (

) for that matter all outlander parts are so expensive, it looks like they want to recover all discounts they offered when they sold the vehicle thru these parts, I guess.

So, I went with Inifinity Reference series 1001t textile tweeters(comes with inline crossovers), which are way better than stock tweeter. Infact the sound stage and high frequency reponse is so good now with these tweeters, I question the point of upgrading factory radio to inifinity system.

BTW, some one above asked where are the crossovers, it looks like(as per drawings) it simply has tweeter mounted highpass filter( capacitor). Nothing much.

I did it!! So easy.
This is truely a mod for the novice and low on cash. I went to my local stereo shop and checked out a couple of tweeter sets. They had a Rockford Fosgate set for $60 or a cheapo brand for $10 a pair. My novice ears couldn't hear a difference and for my power needs, I went with the cheap stuff.

ApoSound - Niobium Micro Dome Tweeter
This is a Power Acoustik tweeter PN = 04-IM 28257-X0-00
The kit includes 2 tweeters with snap-on base adapters, angle mount adapters, and double sided adhesives and mounting screws.
I've seen similar items on ebay for less than $10, but I wanted them now and from a place I could hear them at.

I attached the angle mounts with super glue to the back of the tweeters since the snap-on feature didn't work readily. I wired in the speakers with some wire nuts. Finally, I adhered the tweeter assembly to the wall of the car with the double sided adhesives. The angle mounts direct the sound perfectly to the cabin and the adhisives hold them in place very well.

A great sound enhancement for $10 bucks! Now....what am I gonna do with the $140 I saved over the dealer?

Could someone provide me with a step by step instruction (images would help too) to remove cover, install tweeter with correct wiring, reinstall
cover.
