This one is weird. I took my 3000GT(base) to the shop because my car dies often after start up or when reversing at low rpms. They said the scan tool would not talk to my ecu, so they couldnt diagnose. I did a full tune up, and cleaned out the throttle body, and it still does the dying thing. The funny thing is that every morning, the car fires right up and idles fine. but when i go anywhere and the engine is warm, it fires right up then dies, it stays on if i hold the gas in for twenty seconds or so to a little over 1000rpm, but some times dies when i go from 3k rpm to idle by simply pushing in the clutch at a stop light. anybody have this problem and can help, or am i just gonna have to swallow my pride and take it to the dealership??

Thanks for any help,
Daniel

when you say full tune up did you replace the plug wires too? or just the plugs. make sure the gap is set right for your plugs, new wires, and if that doesnt work your can try adjusting your idle control valve. it may be that because your car idles higher when cold so then it doesnt die, but when its warmed up at a lower idle its too low an dies.

ya full tune up, i switched out the wires with some 8mm accels, and bosch platinum 4 plugs(dont need to be gapped), along with that the plenum and throttle body gaskets were switched out to new ones as well. The shop already adjusted the aic valve and tested it. It dies about 80% of the time after start up if i let it, which i typacally dont by revving at 1k rpm. a lot of times the rpm dip low to where the battery light dims on and back off, the battery is a new one too, and the alternator tested good as well.

dumb question......... did you replace the air filter too.......... if its really dirty it could cause you to not get enough air into the engine............

I might be wrong but have you checked the air mass sensor?
