Could be another TSB that would call for the replacement of the rear springs, but hardly justifies a recall. If ever, this would probably be treated the same as the steering clunk for some early imported Outlanders last Nov-Dec 06. I have to look closer if my Outlander does the same...

I doubt there's any real issue. Car based SUV (CUV?)s generally have this trait. Airbags are an easy fix if the visuals are annoying to you.

You cant go by the wheel well. They can have horrible optical illusions. To get a better idea of sag measure the area under the doors. First on empty tank, then fill, park where you were the first measurement then measure again.

I know for a fact that if I ever tow my boat I will have to get bags or something along those lines. If you have trailer brakes and the hitch sags too much you activate the trailer brakes every time you hit a bump in the road. Its quite comical but hard on the trailer and towing vehicle.

I doubt there will be any recall. The rear is soft on purpose to give a smooth ride. I notice that mine sags when loaded with 5 people.

My solution will be to get some Bilstein BTS coilovers from Japan. In addition to improved dampening and adjustable ride height, the design makes the rear a true coilover (the spring goes around the shock). The factory suspension has separate locations for the spring and shock.

Thanks to the suggestions here, I installed a set of air bags to solve my saggy butt problem. I ordered a set of Firestone Coil Rite 4106. They didn't have an application for the Outlander but that was the set they recommended based on dimensions of the spring. And it fits. Took about an hour to install and now I can tow a boat without scraping my driveway. Since I had my wheels off...might as well paint the calipers!
