No doubt, electrical problems are a real pain in the ass to track down.  This is the car that was rear ended right?  One of the wires had to have gotten pinched and is shorting to ground.

To the OP, do you know anyone that can help you remove the tail lights and trace some wires?

I'm assuming you don't want help tracking down your short...

Are you kidding? I'd love help tracking it down.

How handy are you with some basic tools (I'm not being condescending)?  Do you know how to change the tail lights on your car?

Hah, I didn't take it that way anyway. I'm good with them, I worked with my dad as an HVAC Tech, so I kind of have to be. When it comes to the tail lights though, I honestly have no idea how to change them.

We'd need some other eclipse owner to give the info on that...I haven't messed with them too much.
You will need to remove the plastic trim in the hatch, to expose the wiring for the tail lights.  Something had to have been pinched when you were rear ended.  Once you get the plastic pieces out of the way, you should be able too see the wiring harness, you'll probably also be able to see the back of the tail lights, and how to change or remove them.
I don't remember, but there wasn't any damage to the front of your car right...just the back?

Can we get a good shot of the back end where it was hit? i think I might have an idea where the pinch is if it was hit the same way as a friend of mines RS.

Right. Back to the CAR. I'll get a picture of it as soon as possible, but the plastic trim has been gone since I was hit.. it cracked into about a million pieces, so I took most of it out. The only damage done to the front was when the tow truck driver took off half the bumper.
