i was driving down the road an all of a sudden i heard a wierd noise an then my car locked up. i brought it to a shop an they told me that my transmission had lost 1st and 2nd. but other people told me that my clutch had went? idk but i need to know what went wrong so i can fix it. any info please reply thanx

Im betting its your tranny... your clutch doesnt do that

ok but the tranny was inspected a couple of months back and we did a rebuild but didnt change the clutch or anythin in that category. so why would the trany do that an the clutch has been goin out for about a year now but just recently it really started to act up (well before it broke)!!

well, every tranny has it's own value. sometimes a rebuild just doesn't cut it. it's like a smoker, sometimes they just die

I think you should get a new tranny.

more info.. when the cars not running can you shift through the gears at all? does the clutch pedal have any feedback or is it really easy to push to the floor? also is it making any weird noises now?

Yea the only thing a clutch  going out will do is cause you to not be able to shift.

I doubt its the clutch same with mine, for now i've replaced it with new Fan Clutch Canada.. So far my car doesn't locked up anymore.. Anyway, hope you can fix it..Goodluck!
