I have a 94 3000GT non turbo.
Just wanted to ask if the vr4 or the Evo is  faster in stock form. I read vr4 does 0-60 in 5.5 and evo like 4.8, but some ppl say they are even. vr4 is like 3500 or 3600 lbs and evo is like 3300 or 3400 i think. neways just was asking bc u can buy a used evo like 2003 or 2004 like in the low $20 thousand range  but vr4 is like 20,000 + for like a car which is almost 10 yrs older and with high mileage like close to 100,000. so which one would you guys recommend?

The EVO is quicker and handles better Top speed would probably be the VR4.  It's lighter, a newer platform, better AWD system, it benefits from years of refining...with that said, I'd take my car over one any day.

well first of all the only 3000gt VR4 worth more then $20k is the 1999. all the others are rip offs. you can get a nice VR4 for half the price of an evo and use all that extra money to make it faster then vettes and vipers. but anyways, i'd take the evo:
  1. it's bad ass
  2. you can fit more then 2 ppl comfortably
  3. it accelerates much faster and handles much better
  4. parts are cheaper cuz it has less cylinders
  5. it's BAD ASS

the vr4 is definitely no civic tho

If a VR4 was upgraded with modifications like that guy Matt Monet who ran those 9sec 1/4 miles
raced against a Lancer Evo that was also modded who would win if it were a drag race?

Weve discussed this before, havent we? The reason that the 3Kgt is more is that its more so comparable to the SC400, or Lincoln Mk8 than it is to the EVO or Eclipse. On top of that theres the rarity factor.

Just a side note...everyone's opinions are different...don't let this turn into a flame thread because of that.

They are two totally different cars designed for totally different things.  The VR4's were designed to be a GT car, and they fit that role perfectly.  They fit two people in comfort, they will hold as much luggage as 2 people need for a weekend trip, they can cover many miles comfortably and quickly.

EVO's well, they're rally cars...and they fit their role perfectly as well.

We are talking about relatively stock vehicles.  Any car can be made fast...so that is a moot point.
