Hello all,

Just curious on when Mitsubishi recommends changing the timing belt? I'm looking at purchasing a '95-'97 Montero SR (maybe an LS if it's in good shape). Three of the trucks I'm looking at range in miles from 85,000 to 110,000. Is there a sticker that the mechanic may affix to somewhere under the hood to show that the work was indeed completed at some point in it's life? Sorry for the newbie question, the search engine came up negative. thanks in advance

The recommended interval is 60k miles. It is critical that the belt for the 3.5 liter with dual cams have the belt changed at this interval. The engines with a single cams can go up to 100k miles but I would not wait that long.
