Hi,
When I set the temperature dial to the lowest setting with the AC on, how come I hear the fan turns on every 5-7 seconds? Is that normal?

Well when I try to increase the temp. by 1 degree, it goes away and everything is normal.

Why is that?

it is possible that you are hearing the condenser fan cycling on and off , as the a/c system may be "trying" to optimize the system head pressure.

mine does it as well and there are no problems with my a/c system.
so i would say it is normal.   if it is extreemly loud , there may be a problem with the condenser fan motor.

FYI  when the AC is on max setting the engine cooling fan runs at full speed and cycles repeatedly and sounds like its going to take off. The compressor runs steady until the cooling temp is reached but the engine fan cycles.

If you click it off the max AC notch, the amount that the engine fan runs is reduced, the cycle when its on is shorter and the length before it turns on again is longer.

However if your AC compressor is cycling rapidly there is a problem with it. Note rapidly is the important part here.

So im sure yours is normal. And as a side note I listened to a Jaguar run the ac the exact same way.

yes it is in reciruculating mode. But whats the point of turning the a/c on while having air outside to be in?

recirculating mode should be used if the cars been sitting in bright hot sun light in this mode it cools down the car interior quicker. Then you should switch back to outside mode.  If you don't and its raining the car windows will mist up as well

ps outside mode quieter as well
