i have a 96 gs with i believe to be a 97 model motor..the 420a that is blown..im buying a motor from someone and believe the new motor is a 96 model..will the ecu and wiring harness still hookup okay or will i have to buy the different one..just curious cause the seller told me this.

As long as you are staying without whatever type transmission you have (manual/auto) and the engine you have is the same one (420a) then it should be a direct swap. No new ecu necessary

alrighty thanks..i thought it had something to do with the tranny but that works..i am staying for now so itll be an easy swap..thanks again
