I have installed a Evo III turbo on a snowmobile.  I have been searching for the oil psi specs for this turbo and can't seem to find much if any specs for the oil flow psi.   I am suppling oil with a machnical pump that gets the oil from a reservior that I have built.   I know that the journal bearing turbos need more oil pressure than a ball bearing turbo but I am not sure just how much pressure flow they need or can handle.  If someone could point me in the right direction, or give me an idea where I can fine this information I would be greatful.  ( Been looking for quite some time.)  Thanks!

Over 15 psi?   But how much is to much?

Wow I have been told that 20 psi is good for running a ball bearing turbo and that they can operate at alot lower oil psi than a journal bearing turbo.  I was also told to operate the evo III tdo5h at 30 psi at idel and 50 psi operating.  Then I read on another forum that the oil pressure on the 16b should be ran at min. 45-61 max. psi of oil pressure.  I have read that if you run the oil pressure to high that you may ruin the bear seals.

I am willing to try any pressure but i don't think the bypass valve I have will even let me run the oil pressure that low,  (15psi)  even wide open.   I think its range is from around 25 - 80.  I just don't want to ruin the bearing seals with to much pressure.

Thanks for the help, Is there any shop manual that has the evo III turbo oil pressure operating specs?
