How do you put in a radio code?

I'm not asking for the code, I have the number to call to get the code, my question is how do you actually put the code in? Is there some sort of additional handheld device I need or what? See here is what happened, I bought an eclipse with the inifinity sound system and a busted cd player. I didn't want to go to all hassles of aftermarket so I bought a similar infinity unit off ebay out of an eclipse with all the matching plugs and everything. Since installing it my alarm goes off everytime I unlock the doors. I am ASSUMING its because a new security code needs to be put in. If that is not the case someone please let me know otherwise. If that is the case if someone could inform as to how to do this I would REALY appreciate a little help. Also, what do I tell them when I call the number to get the code? Thanks in advance!!!

pic of your head unit? i can tell ya...my monty you hit the 1-4 buttons and then hit tape...

I the display is reading CODE.

Say the code is 4321

Hit the 1 preset 4 times then hit the 2 preset 3 times then hit the 3 preset 2 times and then hit the 4 preset 1 time.  when you see the code on the display hit the cd button. 

If the display is reading OFF then turn the key to the acc. position and let it sit for about an hour (untill it reads CODE).

For the code you dont hit buttons 1-6 like you would be using a phone. You have to figure out what button allows you to scroll through the numbers. I dont have my eclipse or stock head unit anymore so I couldnt go out to my car and tell you what button you need to press.
