My amp is a 1000watt.  How big of subs can I get. I was toled that my amp can be "bridged" and that will make it a 2000watt sub. Some one did that to my sisters 700 watt sub and that made it into a 1400 watt.  I was looking at getting two 18" 1000watt subs.Would i be able to use them subs with my amp? And my sister tole me a whireing kit is like $100 is that what they cost? And how much for a amp whiring kit because I have the amp but no whires. And how much to hook up a cd player? I just got one but the whires are all cut and stuff it was in a cavalier oraginaly. I have up to  $600 to spend.

Heres a couple pics of my car now. Inside is blue and black now recarped it and stuff and boxed up the rear end. The subs are going to go right behind the head rests.

yea your lookin at some pretty nice prices for what your lookn at..my suggestion is find a friend that knows at least half of what hes doin..the head unit is actually kinda easy..after you buy ione goto bestbuy and get connection for your car..like 20 bucks..and their labeled..i followed my wires and found colors and matched..pop the covers off your speakers and itll help you be able to tell where they all go..i dont really see use in so much amp and 18's...lol...thats big but its all you i guess..some nice 12's would be fine..get sony or pioneer..maybe some kenwood..bestbuy always got deals for packakges and they throw in the standard box sometimes..

Well I found 2 18" subs for $170. Have a sony 1000 watt amp that can some how be converted to 2000 watt and already have a pioneer cd player. As long as i get all the parts and whires a guy my sister knows will install it all for $50.

yea uh idk xactly how u plan on powering 2 18s with just a 1000w amp, that wont work, ud def either need another amp or capacitor for that sh!t, and u would only have to bridge it if u have a 4/3 channel amp, if its a 2/1 channel then theres no need to bridge it, but ya id just rather go with 2 12s and that 1000w amp tho dude, my friend has 2 10s and 1000w and its pretty damn good, and yea an amp wiring kit u can get at walmart for like $40, well dependin on wut kind of wiring u need, id go somewhere that sells nicer stuff tho even if it is more xpensive if u want it to b really good and all cause all walmart wiring kits r is for like basic hook up, nothin fancy, so but ya again id just get like 2 kenwood 12s, kenwoods really nice, one of my friends has that xact setup, 2 kenwood 12s and a 1000w amp, its pretty kick ass, id just go with that or u can still get the 2 18s u want but then u would def have to get either another amp or capacitor cause otherwise that single 1000w will overheat really easy, my friend with the 2 10s used to have a 600 powering them and it was bridged cause it was a 4/3 channel and ya it overheated like every 10-15 min, sooo yaa 2 12s +1000w = good to go, up to u tho

If you are going for sound DO NOT get 15's or 18's they will sound like **** because you are not giving them room to breathe. Maybe 1 15" at max but that may be pushing it.

Check out the ecoustics forum and post your budget and what you are looking to get. It will help alot.
