Okay, so i test drove a grand am for my girlfriend yesterday, she didnt end up wanting it anyway, but now i cant get this out of my head. There was a clicking, sounded like it was coming from behind the radio, BUT it would only do it when the car was moving or just stopped. I asked the sales dude (he didnt look very car smart) and he was very confused. So I was wondering what could cause a noise like this. Just out of curiousity.

Mine used to make the same damn noise.  But mine did it after i first started it and then eventually went away.  I never could figure out where it was coming from.

So we all know that the supercharged engines need the intake bypass valve so they work in reverse. Otherwise the supercharger would just suck all the air out of the cylinder

an exhaust leak wont make a ticking noise.. if it is behind the radio, it might have something to do with the computer in those cars, maybe they are just noisy?

an exhaust leak will have a "ticking" noise if it's coming off the manifold... have u tried poppin ur hood, turning your car on, and giving it some gas? see if the noise is coming from there
