Well the subject sorta stated it all lol. Im in the air force and ill be stationed in Japan in a few months so ill probably cash out my checking account on a car. Does anyone have an estimation on how much it would cost to legalize a japanese evo? The service will pay for my import fee's but im worried about the cost of A-spec'ing it.

Should be zero. All you have to do is simply ship it and register it...

ba3 i should slap you lol  of course it's RHD.       i'm not sure of the whole process to get a car legalized for US driving but i've heard of it taking up to a year or so to get it completely done.

I met a man who was in the service and it cost him 7K to legalize his skyline. I thought maybe it would be cheaper for an evo since it is actually sold in the US.

It's not easy! there are a few people that claim that they can get the car registered in the U.S, some in FL and some in N.Y not cheap too. maybe you can contact U.S Customs since you are in the service they might try to help you out. i just got a RHD Evo VII and i will let you know how it goes. i posted a few pics in the new member section.  Check out skylineking.com he seems to have a lot of right hand drive cars and a few skylines. don't know how good he is in getting paperwork but worth talking to him. Good luck and be safe.

hmm... i would think that it'd mostly be just registration fees... especially if the service is payin for the importing
