so i baught this car along time ago and the check engine light was on but i didnt think too much of it cuz every car ive ever owend has had it on lol and all eclipses ive ever seen have also had it on and never seemed to matter but its gettin winter time here now and the cars all of a sudden running super rich and i know of a few sensors not working so i go to the shop and have them try to get the codes to tell me wats goin on but their computer came up with nothing, almost like it doesnt have the light on at all. so i looked at all my fuses to make sure none were blown and they were fine, so i looked at the computer itself just because and its a black plastic cpu. all the computers ive ever seen in these cars has been metal, is my car running off the wrong cpu or is that even possable? and if it is the right cpu then what else could be causing it to be reading that there is no check engine light on?

i wouldnt trust the shop. Bring it to autozone and see if they can find a code for you

its sad but true, you cannot trust the shop, agreed with TheEngineer, take it to autozone and have them run it
about the CPU, it might just be a new one, not the wrong one.. could be an aftermarket cpu. if it was the wrong one it would probably not run good at all because it wont get the proper air/fuel mixture  and whatnot

k so i took it to auto zone today and they said the same thing so i took it back to the shop for troubleshooting cuz i dont really have the time to do it myself right now, got alot of stuff goin on lately and my mass air flow sensor and two of my o2 sensors arent even hooked up, the plug ends are actually cut off.... all i can say is wtf right? do you all think this is my problem??? and if it is then why would the computer still not read out anything?

thank you i was thinkin that was my problem also but still why wont the computer give me the codes cuz im sure theres more than just those few sensors wrong with it... the guy who had it before me like to take alot of so-called "shortcuts" and stuff of that nature.
