I currently own a 2003 Eclipse GTS and would like to do some performance mods over the winter months.  I would like to have the most bang for the buck.  Is turbo the way to go.  I don't really want instantanious power like that of nitrous systems, i would rather all around power.  Any tips would be very much appreciated.  Please speak in laymans terms as I am new to cars (more into motorcycle and snowmobile performance work).

You should probably stick with your basic mods such as cold air intake, headers, exhaust etc. etc.  Unfortunately the gts is well none for having crappy pistons that cant handle much boost.  So unless you have deep pockets its probably not a good idea to go with turbo.

The gt can handle boost better than the gts, but not much.

I dont think you will be able to push more than around 6lbs of boost.
