Whats up. My name is David and I just traded in my 03 corolla s for a 03 eclipse spyder gt. I am very much into modding cars and I am trying to learn more about the eclipse and its engine. I joined because I want to learn more about engine modifications to make the car faster. Thank you for having me.

Well, what are your goals and what are you willing to spend to get there? : )

If you are a performance oriented person, you might want to look away from the 3rd generation.

Welcome to the forums! Post some pics!

I am looking to spend up to $700 dollars on an exhaust, and $250 on an intake. I am also interested in a header. I want to cover all the bolt ons before I do anything internal in the engine. My goal is to keep the exterior stock, no body kit or anything, maybe lower the car a little bit, and try to get as much hp out of the engine as possible with bolt ons for right now.

So we all know that the supercharged engines need the intake bypass valve so they work in reverse. Otherwise the supercharger would just suck all the air out of the cylinder

Sorry to break it to you, but its really hard to make power out of that motor.

If you are really ambitious, i would consider a 95-99 GSX

Ya know... by the way they're talking, you'd think they didn't like 3gen... I have a 3gen and I don't have a problem with it!  LOL but anyway, welcome and I will tell you that putting a sway bar on helps a lot, (maybe it was my car) but it does handle a lot better... the only other thing I've done is intake... but there really isn't much you can get out of a 2000GS

hey man, i agree with the others, first of all good decision on no body kit! haha you'll find that just about everyone on here is not a fan of em.  And that the 3g's arent much for makin a ton of horsepower... but if you mod it like you're sayin you should have a real clean nice ride... post pics soon please!
