I pushed hard on the brakes the other day, and it felt like i broke a cable or somethign at first, but then i could still apply the brakes to stop the truck, only it feels like the contact point is a lot lower than before.... and the "Brake" light is on.

You may be low on fluid. It may have got so low that you got an air bubble in your brake lines. Try bleeding and flushing all the old fluid out. If the "brake" light stays on, it means you are low on fluid or you left your e-brake on.
